An Introduction To The Motorola RAZR

If you thought that the iPhone 4 or the Samsung Galaxy S2 were thin, think again! The new Motorola RAZR is now the world's thinnest smartphone, with a depth of just 7.1mm. Somehow though, the manufacturer has managed to pack the full list of features you would expect from a smartphone into the casing, resulting in a very desirable handset.
In this article I will provide an overview of the key features of this handset so you can decide if it is the smartphone for you.
The Motorola RAZR cuts no corners on its spec list, making it the most advanced smartphone from the manufacturer for some time.
The screen is a good starting point to demonstrate this; with a resolution of 540x 960, it is only beaten in this department by a couple of other handsets. This makes for superb display quality of the on screen imagery, so it really appeals as a multimedia device. The touchscreen aspect is equally impressive, with super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen technology providing a fast, responsive and intuitive means of navigating the user interface.
16 GB of internal storage is provided as standard, so there is plenty of scope for storing all sorts of files in the handset. As an added bonus, there is also a microSD slot included, which can accommodate a memory card of up to 32 GB. This is also handy for those who download apps from the Android Market, of which there are thousands to choose from, within several different categories.
As you would expect, the Motorola RAZR is a great internet browsing device. With data download speeds of up to 14.4 Mbps, it is on par with handsets such as the HTC Sensation in this department. Additionally, there is the added benefit of Wi-Fi browsing as well as Wi-Fi hotspot feature, which allows users to utilise their 3G connection as a means of providing wireless internet for devices such as laptops or tablets.
As a camera phone, the Motorola RAZR is an impressive unit. Operating at 8 megapixels, and a pixel resolution of 3264x 2448, it produces pleasing results. It comes with a selection of image enhancing features and adjustable settings. Autofocus, face detection and LED flash are all included, as you would expect from a high end camera phone.
Android is the operating system of choice. The latest version (known as Gingerbread) provides a versatile platform for customisation and expansion, with downloadable apps from Android Market allowing users to optimise their phone for their particular needs. As with many new smartphones, it has a dual-core processor, with 1.2 GHz providing ample power for carrying out any task you throw at it, as well as multitasking.
On the surface, it may seem to many that the appeal of this phone lays in the styling (and namely its thinness), but upon closer inspection, it actually has a very impressive spec list and it is hard to find anything bad to say about this phone.
